Potsdam invites you to stroll around, as each district has its own charm. The city center with the Brandenburger Straße invites you to store. The historic Dutch Quarter with its many cafés, restaurants, galleries and workshops. Or the Russian colony of Alexandrowka with its magnificent wooden buildings, to name just a few examples.

Sanssouci Park, with its many different architectural styles, is often referred to by Potsdamers as Little Europe. It is a must for every visitor to Potsdam!
It goes through the two other parks in Potsdam. One is the New Garden with its beautiful marble palace and the historic Cicilien Hof. The second is Babelsberg Park, built in the cultural landscape style, with Babelsberg Palace, which was built in the Gothic style, as well as Glienicke Bridge, where the famous exchange of agents took place.
Potsdam is criss-crossed by parks and is surrounded by a diverse cultural landscape. You can explore it easily by bike on the many cycle paths. You can hire bikes from
Pedales at the main railway station or at Griebnitzsee station. The Nextbike rental service is ideal for short distances. It has rental stations all over the city where bikes can be rented and parked.
It goes through the three large parks Neuer Garten, Park Babelsberg and Park Sanssouci. The first stage is Babelsberg Park. This park impresses with its cultural landscape design. A particular highlight is Babelsberg Palace, which overlooks the Havel and is built in the English Gothic style. The route continues over the park bridge past Glienicke Palace to Glienicke Bridge, where the famous exchange of agents took place. From here it goes into the New Garden to Cicilien Hof Palace. Shortly behind the palace is the Meierei, where you can enjoy home-brewed beer. From here, the route continues via the Russian settlement of Alexandrowka to Sanssouci Park. First around the park to the new plais and then through the middle of the park. The route then continues through the city center with the Dutch Quarter. The many cafés here invite you to linger. The route continues to the new market, past the city palace and through Nuthe Park back to the starting point.
The tour starts at Babelsberg S-Bahn station, past Babelsberg Park and through the city center. The first highlight is the ride through Sanssouci Park via Ökonomieweg to the new palace. From there, the route continues along Lindenallee to the railroad bridge that leads to Werder. The island of Werder should be planned as a stop. With a delicious ice cream or smoked fish in your hand, the historic town center of the island is a great place to explore. From Werder, the route continues almost all the way around Lake Schwielowsee. In the village of Petzow, don't miss a stop at Sanddorn Christine Berger and Petzow Castle. The last highlight is Forsthaus Templin. Here you can enjoy the home-brewed beer "Potsdamer Stange" and typical brewery dishes. The return journey is along the Havel back to Potsdam. The nice thing about this tour is that most of the route is completely car-free or leads along a cycle path.
Potsdam lies on the Havel and is surrounded by many lakes. It is therefore ideal for exploring from the water. The many castles, churches and, above all, the beautiful nature can be viewed from there.
The Weiße Flotte offers various round trips, some of which go as far as the surrounding area of Potsdam. One of the most beautiful routes is the castle tour and the Havel lake tour, which you can also use as a transfer to the surrounding area.
